Lily Allen: I could`ve died like pal Amy Winehouse
SINGER Lily Allen admitted yesterday she could have ended up like her tragic friend Amy Winehouse.
She said: "I`ve had nights out with Amy and know exactly what used to go on. It`s so easy to get caught up in that madness."
Lily, 26, now expecting her first child with husband Sam Cooper after suffering a miscarriage last year, revealed she is lucky to have escaped the demons that haunted Amy.
She added: "I`ve been strong enough to walk away.
"When Amy died, I got several texts from friends saying they were really glad I was still here, that I hadn`t died too."
She said of the 27-year-old Back To Black star who became notorious for her boozy benders: "Her death almost didn`t seem real. Amy had become a cartoon character of herself."
